Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Photo Session
Pat and Amber’s engagement session took place inside Rocky Mountain National Park. We decided on RMNP for the photos because it’s a special place for these two. Pat and Amber love hiking, backpacking, camping and exploring all of Colorado together. Rocky holds a lot of memories for them so we wanted to create even more by having their engagement photos done in the park. We caught beautiful sunshine down in the valley and an incredible sunset up off Trail Ridge Road. We stopped along the way to take in the mountain views, enjoy the wildflowers and smell the pines. Rocky Mountain is a favorite and top of the list for engagement photos and I think you’ll see why! Amber and Pat also really enjoy film photography so I brought along a few rolls of Portra 400, Fujifilm TRI-X (a black and white film stock great for portraits) and photographed most of these engagement photos on my Leica M6. For the digitals I used all Fujifilm X series cameras with lenses ranging between the Fujinon 35mm 1.4, 23mm 1.4 and 56mm 1.2 //
We ended the day at the top of Rocky with amazing views and all the moody warm lighting that Rocky Mountain offers, well into blue hour. These are the days that are extra special and I’m always so grateful for them. I can’t wait to photograph Amber and Pat’s upcoming wedding! As always if you have any questions about the engagement photo location, photographing in Rocky Mountain or using the Leica M6 for couple photography, drop me a comment or message.
