How to Get Married at République in Los Angeles
How to Get Married at République in Los Angeles
If you're dreaming of a wedding that feels more like an incredible dinner party than a traditional wedding, République in Los Angeles is definitely worth looking into.
Between the beautiful architecture, incredible food, warm lighting and overall atmosphere, there's so much to love about this space. It's the kind of place that doesn't need a ton of decorating to feel special.
And personally, I love the idea of a wedding centered around good food, great conversation and having all your favorite people together in one room.
Whether you're planning something intimate or taking over the entire restaurant, here's a little more about what getting married at République can look like.
Why Get Married at République?
Located on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, République is a French-inspired restaurant housed in a beautiful historic building.
The space has these incredible high ceilings, exposed brick, dramatic windows and an atmosphere that feels both romantic and full of life.
It's especially beautiful for couples who want something a little different from a traditional wedding venue.
Think long dinners, candlelight, beautiful florals, wine flowing and plenty of time to actually enjoy being with your guests.
The restaurant already has so much character that you can really let the space speak for itself.
How Many Guests Can République Accommodate?
One of the nice things about République is that there are several different spaces depending on the size of your celebration.
For smaller weddings, the restaurant offers private and semi-private dining areas. For larger celebrations, there's the option of booking the main dining room or arranging a full restaurant buyout.
According to République's event information, some of the options include:
Main Dining Room: Up to 70 seated guests.
The Patio: Up to 65 seated guests.
The Left Bank: Up to 18 guests.
The Right Bank: Up to 30 seated guests.
Full Restaurant Buyout: Approximately 125 seated guests or 300 standing.
These numbers can vary depending on the layout and event arrangements, so I'd recommend confirming everything directly with their events team.
You can explore the different spaces on the République private events page. République
How Much Does a Wedding at République Cost?
This is probably one of the first questions you'll have when considering the venue.
République doesn't currently publish a standard wedding buyout price on its website, which makes sense given how many different event configurations are possible.
Your final cost will likely depend on the number of guests, the day of the week, whether you're reserving a private dining space or the entire restaurant, and your food and beverage selections.
I'd recommend reaching out to the events team with your estimated guest count, preferred date and a little about what you're envisioning.
A few questions worth asking are whether there's a food and beverage minimum, what's included in the rental, how long you'll have the space and whether there are additional fees for a ceremony or room changes.

Can You Have Your Wedding Ceremony at République?
Yes! République has hosted wedding ceremonies as well as receptions.
Depending on the size of your celebration, you may be able to have everything in one location, which is always nice when you're trying to keep the day relaxed.
I love weddings where guests can arrive, enjoy the ceremony, move into cocktail hour and settle in for dinner without having to travel between several different locations.
It's worth talking with the events team about ceremony layouts, timing and how the space would transition into dinner.
For larger celebrations, a full restaurant buyout may give you more flexibility.
Wedding Photography at République
From a photography perspective, this is the kind of venue I get excited about.
There's so much character in the architecture, and I can already imagine how beautiful it would look photographed on a mix of digital and 35mm film.
I especially love restaurant weddings because so much of the day happens naturally. People gathering around tables, conversations during cocktail hour, the energy of dinner, speeches, laughter and everything happening in between.
And when the lights get low, there's something really beautiful about incorporating direct flash and film into the photographs.
My approach has always been that the best photographs happen when couples are able to be fully present in their wedding day.
Of course, we'll make time for portraits and I'll offer direction when it's helpful, but I never want photography to take over the experience.
At a venue like République, I'd want to make sure there's plenty of time to enjoy the restaurant, the food and, most importantly, the people who came to celebrate with you.
A Few Tips for Planning Your République Wedding
One of the biggest things I'd think about is how you want the evening to feel.
Do you envision a ceremony followed by a long, candlelit dinner? Maybe a cocktail-style celebration with plenty of movement and conversation? Or a full wedding day with getting ready, portraits, dinner and dancing?
I'd also think about the lighting. République has beautiful natural light during the day, but the atmosphere changes as the evening goes on. That can be a really lovely part of the story, especially with a mix of film, digital photography and flash.
And don't feel like you need to fill every minute of the day.
Sometimes the best parts of a wedding are the moments you didn't plan for.
