FILM WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Film photography has a timeless quality that digital simply cannot replicate. The color, the softness, and the subtle imperfections create photographs that feel less like pictures and more like memories.

For many couples, film adds something special to their wedding photography. It slows the process down, encourages intentional moments, and creates images with a texture and emotion that feels timeless.

Why Couples Love Film Wedding Photography

Film has a depth and character that feels different from modern digital photography. Colors are softer, highlights roll off naturally, and the subtle grain adds texture to an image.

Couples are often drawn to film because it feels timeless and slightly imperfect in the best way. Instead of chasing technical perfection, film focuses on emotion, light, and honest moments.

Why Choose a Film Wedding Photographer

Film photography creates a different feeling than digital alone. The colors are softer, highlights feel natural, and the subtle grain adds texture that makes images feel timeless.

For many couples, choosing a film wedding photographer is less about perfection and more about the feeling the photographs create. Film encourages a slower and more intentional approach, where light, emotion, and atmosphere become part of the image.

Because film cannot be reviewed instantly, it naturally encourages trust in the process and a focus on genuine moments rather than constant adjustments. The result is a collection of photographs that feel organic, emotional, and deeply connected to the day itself.

For couples who appreciate art, design, and the beauty of analog photography, film often becomes one of the most meaningful parts of their wedding gallery.

How I Use Film at Weddings

I offer both film forward wedding photography and film only coverage, depending on what couples are drawn to and how they want their day documented.

For many weddings I photograph a blend of digital and 35mm film throughout the day. Both formats are used naturally alongside each other so the coverage feels seamless. Digital allows me to document fast moving moments as they unfold while film adds a softer, more intentional quality to portraits, details, and quieter parts of the day.

Some couples choose to lean heavily into film and build their coverage around it, while others prefer a balance of both formats. Either approach creates a gallery that feels cohesive while still capturing the character and depth that film brings to wedding photography.

Because both formats are photographed together throughout the day, the final gallery feels natural and consistent rather than separated into two different styles.

35mm Film Wedding Photography

Much of the film work I create is photographed on 35mm cameras such as the Leica M6, Canon 1V and Canon AE-1. These cameras create images with beautiful color, organic grain, and a timeless aesthetic that pairs naturally with modern digital photography.

Film works especially well for portraits, details, and moments where light and atmosphere play an important role. It brings a different texture to a gallery and often becomes some of the most meaningful images from the day.
