Colorado Elopement at Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder
Intimate wedding at Sunrise Amphitheater, Boulder Colorado
Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, Colorado is a beautiful outdoor wedding venue for both intimate weddings and elopements. If you’re looking for a place to get married near the city, Flagstaff mountain offers incredible views across Boulder and is packed with hiking trails to explore and makes for pretty darn good photos.
I’d been looking forward to Sam + Shaye’s mountain wedding day since they first reached out and we started geeking on all the planning and beauty of the day. Originally the plan was to have the Amphitheater packed with friends and family, but you know it was 2020 so that couldn’t happen but it didn’t stop the celebration. We adjusted to a fewer number of people and held off on a bigger celebration till it’s a better time to do so. I know this was a hard but necessary decision for Sam & Shaye to make and I respect how they handled the entire situation and stayed so positive through it all.
We started the day with some casual getting ready and detail photos then headed over to Lory State Park where Sam + Shaye had their first look which was filled with so much joy. We then explored around the park for some portraits where we found some epic moody fog that rolled in just in time.
Then we headed to Sunrise Amphitheater which is by far one of my favorite outdoor mountain wedding venues in the Boulder area. We all parked at the trailhead and hiked (more like sped walked) till we reached the ceremony location!
The day was just perfect and I know you probably hear me say that a lot, but it truly was from the sun-shining through the trees and the crisp mountain air, it just couldn’t be better.
And I have to say, being able to witness and document Sam & Shaye exchange their vows surrounded by just a few of their closest people was incredible. The air was filled with so much authentic joy, worship and laughter. I’m lucky to be be present on days like this and photograph such sacred moments.
