Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Session

Melissa and Amado chose Colorado for their destination engagement session in Rocky Mountain National Park. They wanted to escape the city and explore the mountains without having to go on a difficult hike! We brainstormed some of the best engagement locations in Colorado and decided on Dream Lake which is one of my favorite easy hikes in Colorado.

We planned to meet before the sunrise to beat the crowds and make sure that we got the best lighting possible. We met before 5AM and carpooled into the park together and once we got to the trailhead we double checked that we had everything we needed and began the ascend. Rocky Mountain Park has heaps of incredible sweeping mountain views, waterfalls, streams and wildlife. It’s one of the best places to explore in Colorado and a favorite for engagement photos!

We watched the sunrise as we hiked along the snow packed trail. We passed a handful of other hikers on our way up but otherwise had Dream Lake to ourselves where we spent the morning exploring the area. If you’ve never been to Rocky Mountain National Park and get a chance for sure hike to Dream Lake and take me with you if you want a guide and epic photos.

Pro Tip: Always bring extra warm clothes and wear hiking boots in the Spring and Autumn in Colorado. You have to pay attention to the elevation and know that it might be warm in Denver or where you are in the Spring but could easily be snowing or have recently snowed in the mountains.
