La Fonda on the Plaza Wedding in Santa Fe, New Mexico

There are some weddings you look forward to for months, and Ali and Tommy's celebration at La Fonda on the Plaza was one of them.

The weekend began with an intimate welcome party surrounded by friends and family in the heart of downtown Santa Fe. Everyone gathered for drinks, conversation, and the chance to slow down before the wedding day. I photographed the entire evening on 35mm film, which felt like the perfect fit for the warm light, historic architecture, and relaxed atmosphere.

Wedding day arrived with colorful florals, desert inspired details, and one of the happiest brides I've ever photographed. Ali radiated joy from the moment I arrived. Everywhere she looked she was smiling, hugging someone, or simply taking in the moment. She has such a warm and genuine personality, and it was impossible not to feel excited alongside her throughout the day.

Their ceremony took place on the terrace at La Fonda overlooking the Santa Fe Plaza. The reception carried the same colorful energy with floral arrangements by Mini Falls Farm featuring warm tones and local cacti that beautifully reflected the landscape of northern New Mexico.

Guests enjoyed signature cocktails on the terrace before gathering for heartfelt speeches and an incredible evening of live music by Desert Child Music, who traveled from Colorado for the celebration.

One of my favorite moments came after the ceremony when Ali and Tommy stepped out into the Plaza with a mariachi band from Giovanniquartet. They wandered through the streets surrounded by music, laughter, and cheers before climbing into a classic blue Chevrolet Impala lowrider for a ride around downtown Santa Fe. It felt timeless, playful, and uniquely them.

The evening finished with cake from Cake Odyssey and, in true Santa Fe fashion, late night Dion's Pizza for everyone to enjoy before dancing the night away.

Photographing this wedding was an absolute privilege. It was a weekend full of genuine connection, thoughtful details, and the unmistakable spirit of Santa Fe. I couldn't have imagined a more joyful way to celebrate these two.
