Best Colorado Engagement Photo Locations
As a Colorado Wedding Photographer I’ve been all over the state and photographed many locations for engagements. I’ve decided to narrow it down to the best engagement photo locations with mountain views that do not require hiking.
Loveland Pass Engagement Photos
The first location for engagement photos with. mountain views would be Loveland Pass. It’s very accessible and doesn’t require much hiking to get incredible mountain views. I would recommend doing your engagement photos here in the Summer or late Fall. If you want to do winter, plan on there being a lot of snow and possible delays with ski traffic. Loveland Pass is a top recommendation for sunrise or sunset engagement photos!
Brainard Lake Recreational Area Engagement Photos
The second location on the list would be Brainard Lake which is inside the Brainard Lake Recreational Area. This is accessible in the winter but does require hiking to get there but if you’re planning an early summer or late fall engagement session and want minimal hiking with lake and mountain views, this is a great spot for you. I believe it’s about 45 minutes one way from Boulder so it’s pretty accessible. You do need to get a permit for parking, but generally there’s plenty for the Brainard Lake area.
Rocky Mountain National Park Engagement Photos
I live about 40 minutes from Rocky. Mountain National Park so it’s a place that I frequent and often recommend for engagement photos. Inside the park you kind of have it all, open valleys, epic mountain views, alpine lakes, wildlife etc. You do need a national park or day pass and have to plan accordingly as the park can be really busy especially in the summer months. However the park has tons of hidden gems that make for great engagement photos in Colorado.
Breckenridge, Dillon Lake Engagement Photos
Who doesn’t love Breckenridge? If you’re visiting the ski town and wanting to do engagement photos that I would highly recommend looking at Dillon Lake. You get the water, mountain views plus there’s a Tiki bar at the Marina. If you’re into going out on the water you can actually charter a sailboat which makes for a super fun experience and very romantic engagement photos.
Estes Park Engagement Photo Session
Estes Park is also an awesome place for engagement photos especially if you want to stay in town and have the option to explore Rocky Mountain National Park. You have the option to get into the woods, the mountains, explore the historic town for all the best engagement photos.
